Tesh and IWP Photography photographed Arti and Niraj’s beautiful Indian wedding on Saturday. Tesh was working with Prashant Shah of Prashant Video Productions. The wedding took place at Wake County Shrine Club in Raleigh.

Indian weddings are always fun to photograph: lots of colors, dancing, food, rituals, fun and emotions. This was a Gujarati and Punjabi wedding. Tesh (aka Hitesh Parekh) was born and raised in Gujarat, so, this wedding brought back many fond memories!

The day started with formal family photos (the day would hae started much earlier for the families!). Arti looked stunning! With many family members travelling from out of the town, formal photos provide an opportunity to create lasting memories. Niraj arrived on a horse-drawn carriage with his baarat. There was much celebration with dancing and fireworks! As with many Indian ceremonies, there are complex rituals and things happen quickly! To capture some of the shots, you have to learn to levitate!

Once the baarat was greeted, the main ceremony began under the mandap. Beautiful decorations were provided by Usha Decor. There were traditional wedding rituals, followed by the lunch. Lunch was catered by Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant.

The reception was at the same place in the evening- but, the entire place was transformed for the party! Sohil Kharva and his team provided the DJ service. The evening began with introduction of the wedding party, and announcement of the bride and groom. Both bride and groom’s family members provided beautiful dance pieces for the evening entertainment. Dinner was catered by Dale’s catering. Did someone say food?! It was delicious!

The dinner was followed by the bride and groom’s dance. Tesh photographed the day with variety of zoom lenses and a combination of available light and flash. Arti and Niraj made a beautiful couple and provided opportunities for shooting lots of candids. Tesh balances tradition with his fresh approach to photographing weddings and events. It was a beautiful wedding. The images below will tell you that! We stay true to the spirit of the event and have kept all the images in color. Let us know your thoughts and what you liked most about an Indian wedding that you have been a guest of!!

We enjoy being a part of weddings and special events. Tesh may even do a painting of Arti and Niraj. Our photography website is: www.iwpphotography.com. Tesh’s wedding and event paintings are online at: www.raleighweddingpainter.com
