The Pithi ceremony is performed at homes of both the bride and the groom. The Pithi, a paste made from turmeric and other ingredients, is applied on the face, arms and legs. The Pithi ceremony is performed before the wedding day to beautify bride and groom and get them ready for the big day! Sonal’s Pithi ceremony was performed at the Shah family’s home in Raleigh. It was an emotional event for Sonal. When capturing this event, you have to be prepared to quickly step outside and adjust white balance, flash power and all that stuff that can otherwise drive you crazy during the post-processing!
