I met Lusally first time at the Events in a Box office in Morrisville. During the consultation, she told me that there will be games at her Chinese wedding. I had no idea that this Hotel Indigo wedding will be one of the most fun weddings I would have ever photographed! I met Luan first time at the wedding and he was an absolute joy to work with. I commend the Events in a Box team for planning and coordinating such a fabulous wedding & reception! If you are planning an event, I highly recommend that you contact Chantel Smith and Maisha Wright.
This was one of the busiest weekend for us. Earlier during the weekend, I had photographed Rakhee and Hiten’s 3 day long and elaborate Indian wedding. I will be posting preview images of that wedding soon! In the morning, photographed Rohit and Meenakashi’s Engagement ceremony at the One Eleven Place (111 Place) in Cary (Mica photographed their reception in the evening).
I arrived at the Durham hotel ahead of the schedule. I captured images of the beautiful decorations and details. I captured few candid images before the First Look session. Lusally and Luan were all smiles when they saw each other for the first time! And the smiles never stopped! Lusally looked beautiful (hair/ makeup was by Make Up for Your Day). This was such a fun event- at times, it was hard for me to stop laughing! If you don’t believe me, just look at the preview images below! The wedding minister Rev. Robin W. Renteria is always smiling, but, you can see how much this wedding made her laugh, too! I was amazed at how close every wedding guest was to the couple. And yes- everyone participated during the ceremony and reception! Jokes were welcome during the ceremony!
The tea ceremony was followed by non-denominational ceremony. For Lusally and Luan, photos of and with family & friends were very important. I love to capture people photos and I am honored to capture group images at such special occasions. I even captured several images with everyone in the attendance (was lucky not to get stuck between the Hotel sliding doors in the process!). There was variety of food, including couple of items from one of my favorite restaurants- the Kadhai. DJ Salsa Mike provided the evening entertainment. Did I mention the skits and games?! Family members improvised couple of skits on how Lusally and Luan had met! The skits were hilarious! And to keep the rating of this post PG, I am not posting some of the images of the Chinese Wedding games!
After the toasts, dinner, games and dancing, we found few minutes for a quick portrait session. Location sessions can be fun, especially when you have a couple like Lusally & Luan! I captured many more candid and group images. And then it was time for me to head home and take a day off!
Congratulations to Lusally and Luan! And thank you for making me part of such an awesome occasion…
