The big day! I had photographed Trusha and Anjan’s Indian wedding events since Wednesday. This was the grand finale! I started the day by capturing Trusha’s hair and makeup session at the Hotel Renaissance. The hair and makeup service was provided by the Luxe Group. My associate photographer Matt Williams captured Groom’s events happening at the same time. Katen Shah (Elegant Designz) had turned ballroom into a beautiful wedding venue. DJ Rang provided lighting as well as music for the ceremony. And as always, it was fun working with wedding priest Pravin Shukla. Great team of vendors! After capturing the decorations, it was time for a quick family portraits session. And then it was baraat time! Groom arrived on a horse-drawn carriage.
The ceremony was full of tears, laughter, religious and social rituals. The food was great (it was Gujarati food, after all!). And then there was the game of Eki-Beki! The groom’s family hosted this game. I did bride and groom’s portrait session at the North Hills. North Hills is one of our favorite places. My paintings have won top honors in couple of plein air painting competitions there. Lately I have done corporate event photography at the Hotel Renaissance as well.
It was time for a little break. While Katen Shah’s crew turned ballroom into the reception venue, I worked on downloading ceremony images and charging batteries. The cocktail hour will begin soon!
