After photographing Rakhee and Hiten’s beautiful wedding ceremony, it was time for a short break! Indian wedding days can be long! Since this wedding started in the afternoon, it was shorter by comparison. The next elaborate wedding I will be photographing in October is expected to be 8 AM- 11 PM for me (not counting the travel, setup or breakdown), with may be an hour of break.
The reception was at the Durham Marriott City Center as well. So, it was easier to move the gear from one ballroom to the other. I setup my lights and got ready to photograph the cocktail hour. The ballroom looked beautiful! Once the reception started, there were beautiful toasts, speeches, and dance performances. And of course, there was the Gujarati food on the buffet! I captured many candids and group images. My favorite part was doing a quick portrait session of the bride and groom. I used videographer Michael’s light to create couple of dramatic images- some of the best and my favorites of this wedding.
And then it was time to head home. Busy day next day with Rohit and Meenakashi’s Indian Engagement in Cary and Lusally and Luan’s Chinese Wedding in Durham (a fun-filled wedding- check out some hilarious moments!)…
