I will be photographing Lauren and Whit’s wedding next month and I can’t wait! We had originally planned Lauren and Whit’s outdoor e-session last week on Friday. But, the weather did not cooperate so we did a mini-session in our studio followed by the outdoor session at the NC State campus yesterday. The focus during the studio session was on posing and portrait lighting. I believe studio images are important since clients (and sometimes the family members) get more choices for print orders. Outdoor sessions are fun and you can get more creative! If capturing lot of detail, the use of wide-angle lens is sometimes necessary.
We started the session at Wolf Ears and finished at the Bell Tower. Lauren and Whit were good models and their dog Reese also participated in some of the poses! We tried variety of poses. Since we wanted to capture NC State campus as well, we did many wide-angle shots. We started with the natural light. But, used our own lighting for the most part. Mica was as always great in setting up the poses and in helping with the lights. It was hot! And Laure and Whit made it hotter…
