Outdoor sessions are fun! I recently photographed a bride and groom’s portrait session at the Duke Gardens right before their Millennium Hotel wedding ceremony. I was worried about the pollen and people (the gardens were full of both!), but, it all worked out. And I got some great photos. When Pooja and Ram scheduled their e-session (Ram flew into Raleigh for the session), we knew that it may be little windy. We also knew that it may be little cool. And I was prepared to shoot in the early afternoon and deal with the Sun. When we started the session at Raleigh Downtown, it was bright, cold and WINDY! If you paint and photograph outdoors like me, you probably are not a big fan of the wind! With some luck and preparation, you can tame the bright Sun. But, no remedy for the wind. So, you just enjoy it and have fun! And that is what Pooja and Ram did! We went around the Fayetteville street, doing some serious and some fun stuff. Posing sometimes and capturing candids at the other times. I used natural light for some of the images and added an off-camera flash for others. It was quite a project, but, we had fun.
I look forward to photographing Pooja and Ram’s Indian wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh Hotel. In just few days. Here are some of my favorite images from the e-session…
