Another beautiful wedding which I photographed the last month. Rashmi and Tarun contacted me from Texas for their Fayetteville wedding. I met Rashmi before the wedding, but, did not have the opportunity to meet Tarun. This was a Rajasthani and Punjabi wedding! I photographed three events: Sangeet, Bride’s Pithi and the Wedding ceremony. The first event was Sangeet at the DoubleTree hotel in Fayetteville NC. This was a mini-reception with great food, music and some social rituals. There were speeches, singing and dance performances. I did a mini portrait session of the couple before the main event started. This was great since you do not always get the opportunity for the portrait session. Trust me, Indian wedding events can be quite hectic! I used multiple cameras, lenses and lights for this wedding. I would like to thank DJ Sohil and his associate Chintan with their help during the wedding events.
After the Sangeet was in full swing, I went to the Hindu Bhavan (Hindu Temple) with Rashmi and her family for her pithi ceremony. This was one of the first late night pithi ceremonies for me! The ceremony was little different from the other ones I have photographed recently. This is what makes photographing Indian weddings fun! There are always new things to learn and photograph!
The work will begin early next morning. With Rashmi’s hair and makeup session at the hotel, followed by portrait session at the temple. I remember Rashmi mentioning to me that she slept couple of hours! Her dress was heavy and beautiful. Photos of the wedding ceremony coming up on my blog next…
